Lynn was born into a military family on October 28, 1947 to Oliver & Nellie O'Kier and lived all over the world during her upbringing. She married E.B. (Bob) Durham of McLean, Texas on July 29,1968 and continued to live in various places throughout Bob's military career. In 1990, Bob unexpectedly passed away and Lynn went back to school in her 40's, earned a medical certificate and crusaded as a single parent to their beloved son, Jason. She loved fishing trips with her family, "Red Hat" outings with her friends, various activities with her ladies ("the girls") in the neighborhood. She was a strong woman and a true individual. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Kelly) Durham, her five beloved granddogs, her brother Bill O'Kier of Anthony, Florida & Mike (Marilyn) O'Kier of Tonica, Illinois. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Michael, Matthieu, Wesley, Shannon & great niece Lydia.
Lynn had a large social network and considered her friends to be part of her family as well.
She is preceded in death by her husband & parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Hauert officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time. Burial will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL on Monday, March 18 at 2:00 pm
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, Rescue Me GA (a dog rescue group) or Networks Co-Op Ministry, Tucker.
