Joe was known as “Papa” to his family. Papa’s favorite thing to do was help others. He always put his family and friends needs before his own. He told his wife of 56 years, Gail, that he loved her, and she was beautiful every day.
His most recent pastime was to help his grandchildren Brandon and Kenna work on their new house and take care of his great grandchildren. He loved visiting Paula, Olivia, and Curtis to celebrate a Texas Christmas. Papa was also thrilled to take a joy ride with his 16-year grandsons, Joe and Josh, in their new cars. He loved life and lived it fully.
Papa served honorably in the US Army and was in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He worked for Genuine Parts Company for 43 years.
Papa loved the people in his church at Lawrenceville Road United Methodist Church. He gave his time and support to the church. From singing in the choir to teaching Sunday School, he was involved in all aspects of his church.
Papa loved Jesus. He was an example of how to live a joyous life in any circumstance. Papa was a “Good Man.”
