John C. Kinsey III, passed away peacefully on Saturday 5/23 at the age of 85. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. A native Atlantan, he grew up in Decatur, attended Decatur Boys High School and then went on to graduate from The Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia (which later became Georgia State University). Later he served in the Georgia National Guard.
He was successful in business and was always a measure of perfect consistency. As a true man of his word, he made good on any obligation and met every commitment he ever made. He simply could not conceive of doing otherwise. As a man of faith, he attended church at the Briarcliff United Methodist Church and was a loyal member for over 40 years. I am confident that he accomplished everything he ever wanted to do in this life and then some.
The dictionary defines the word "hero" as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Well Dad...you were our hero for as long as I can remember. Much love and may you rest in peace.
He is survived by his brother & sister-in-law, Larry and Charlotte Kinsey, and his children, Angela Keegan, Belinda Ghalahgir, John C. Kinsey IV, Mark Keegan, Karen Mathews, Bill Keegan, Kenneth Keegan and their spouses as well as nieces, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome to join us to celebrate his life this coming Tuesday 6/2 at 10:00 AM for visitation and a service at 11:00 AM at the Floral Hills Funeral Home in Tucker, GA. Interment at the adjoining Floral Hills Cemetery will follow directly after the service.
