Jesse was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on June 3, 1928, to his parents James and Juanita Walter. As a young man he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict before moving into civilian life where he began a lifelong mission to serve the Lord as a minister in the Methodist Church.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; James “Oscar” and Juanita, his loving wife; Nelda Lee King Walter, he was also preceded in death by his brother Bill Walter.
He leaves behind his children Terri Renee Walter,of Tucker, GA., Melanie Jane Walter Henderson (Doug), of Dawsonville, Ga. and Jesse Clifford Walter, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Ga. as well as grandchildren Jesse Christopher Walter (Jensen) of Dallas, Ga., Justin Clifford Walter, of Kennesaw, Ga., Jared Charles Walter of Pendergrass, Ga. , and three great grandsons. He is survived by a sister, Laura Walter Hearne, of Newbern, N.C., He also leaves behind many friends who became family over time, such as Dr. William Clyde Partin, Jr., who served him as friend and physician, Thomas Moore, as well as Norman Burkett, all of whom will feel his loss deeply in their hearts but take comfort in knowing he’s with the Lord.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the North Georgia United Methodist Conference in his honor.
The family will receive guests at Tucker United Methodist Church, Tucker Ga. from 11:00 noon to 12:00 PM on Thursday April 3rd, 2025 with a Church Funeral to follow at 12 pm. Rev. Dr. Mike Cash officiating.
Burial will take place the following day, Friday April 4th,2025 at 2PM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Waycross Georgia. The cemetery is located at 5000 Brunswick Hwy. Waycross Ga. 31503
