Gail Brewster McKnight passed away on February 24, 2021. Gail is survived by her son, Ralph Addison McKnight, Jr., her daughter, Meredith McKnight Bruce (Tommy), her sister, Judith Ann Cotter, her three grandchildren, Madison Bruce, Barrett Bruce, and Spencer Greene, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Addison McKnight, Sr., her daughter, Kimberly McKnight Brown, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.A. Brewster, and her brother Charles "Dink" Brewster.
Gail was born on September 13, 1936 in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Tyner High School and Carson Newman College. Following college, Gail moved to the Atlanta area and joined First Baptist Church Decatur. It was at FBC Decatur where she met her husband, Ralph. Gail was an active member of the church and the Triple L Sunday school class. She enjoyed her time with her class members, many with friendships spanning over 50 years. Gail also served several years as a deacon and was in the church choir. The church was an integral part of who she was.
Gail was fondly known to her family as "Grammy Gail," and she relished spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her daily phone calls with her sister and keeping in touch with her neighbors. Gail was adored by all who met her and will be remembered for her sweet disposition, her wonderful sense of humor, and her warm smile.
A celebration of life service will be held for immediate family and close friends on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA. Live stream details may be found on the Floral Hills Funeral Home Facebook page.
