VICKERS, Fred Coleman, age 85, of Tucker, Georgia, died on May 7, 2018 at after a short battle with stomach cancer. Fred, a native of Fulton County, was retired from Rainwater Construction Company. He served in the US Air Force and US Army during the late 1950's. He was a member of Briarcliff Methodist Church, the World War II Roundtable, the Tucker Lodge #42, and the Senior Golf Association of Atlanta. He served as Scoutmaster of Troop 55 first and then Troop 534 through several decades. All three of his sons attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Fred is survived by wife of 21 years, Ann Vickers, his daughter and son-in-law, Dianna (Brian) Brooks of Cumming, Georgia; sons, Daniel (Kris) Vickers of Atlanta, Georgia, David (Donna) Vickers of Homer, Georgia, and Douglas (Phyllis) Vickers of Between, Georgia; step-children, Alan Toland of Johns Creek, Georgia and Julie (Dave) Suppes of Dacula, Georgia; grandchildren, Andrew (Michelle) Vickers of Woodstock, Georgia, Joseph (Amanda) Martin of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Jennifer Jones of Between, Georgia, Brandi Brooks of Cumming, Georgia, Thomas Phillips of Between, Georgia, Senior Airman Destinee (Lucas) Noll of Shepard Air Force, Wichita Falls, Texas, Brittany Brooks of Cumming, Georgia, Christopher Brooks of Cumming, Georgia; great grandchildren, Aiden, Kylie, Emily, Adrian, Eli, Sydney, Liana, and Aria. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Rolader Vickers, his parents Frederica Coleman and John Hill Vickers, Jr., and his brother, John Hill Vickers, III. Funeral services will be held the chapel at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Georgia at 11am on May 10, 2018. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-9 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Flowers should be sent to Floral Hills Funeral Home.
