He was born in 1935 to Eugene and Ernestine Davis in Friendsville, Tennessee. As a child he moved to Maryville, Tennessee and attended Maryville High School. As an adult, he moved to Atlanta and worked at Delta Airlines in computer operations for 27 years. In 1973, he married Tommie Davis and, together, they had five children.
He loved the Lord Jesus, his family, and the dear believers in the church. He was also a pattern in caring for others.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife (Tommie Davis), his children (Elizabeth Davis, Thomas Davis, Melinda Vereen (Graham), Philip Davis (Maisie), and Joseph Davis), and his grandchildren (Katherine (Alex), Lillian, and Elise Vereen and Audrey and Arabelle Davis). He is also survived by his sister (Kathryn Charles), his brother and sister-in-law (George and Julia Crawford) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
