Diane Marie (Leatherman) Brown passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in her home under the care of Hospice with her family present. Diane was born on November 12, 1951, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of David R. Leatherman and Anne Whiting (Wilson). She graduated from Harper Creek Highschool in 1969. Diane began her Naval career at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois which led her to employment in San Diego, California. After working and living in California for several years she took a civilian job with Delta Airlines and moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia where she lived the remainder of her life. Diane enjoyed the Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves baseball. She loved playing card games with her partner Bobby. Diane was a huge animal lover. She had several pets throughout her lifetime that were treated like royalty. She and Bobby also made sure the wild animals, such as birds, squirrels, and racoons around her Stone Mountain home were well fed and cared for. Diane had an infectious laugh that once you heard it you could not help but laugh with her. She is survived by her partner of 25 plus years, Robert Fanning Eaves III, his son Robert Fanning Eaves IV, and his grandson Robert Fanning Eaves V, her siblings brother Daniel (Pamela) Leatherman of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and sister Barbara Allen of Sacramento, California, her Aunt Janice (David) Vandlen and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, David R. Leatherman and Anne Whiting (Wilson), her brothers David R. Leatherman, John R. Leatherman, and Greg A. Leatherman.
