Dalia Matos Selem, 91, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Sunday May 8, 2022 at home with her family. Mrs. Selem was born in Oriente, Cuba and was the daughter of Manuel Matos and Maria Fonseca. She and her husband Orestes left Cuba in 1967 for the United States to create a better life for their children. She worked for 21 years at First National Bank in Atlanta, GA. She was a devout Catholic and very faithful person. She was a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves. Dalia was the most giving and loving person whose devotion to her family was apparent to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Darcy de los Angeles Matos, Diomedes Rodrigo Matos, Darbin Oscar Matos, Dagoberto Osvaldo Matos, and Duilian Ramona Matos. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Orestes S Selem; her sisters Denis Marta Matos and Miriam Cita Matos; her children Orestes J Selem (Vivian), Armando Manuel Selem (Evelyn), and Tarcida Selem Hernandez (Jorge); her grandchildren Alexander Selem (Lisa), Christopher Selem, Kristina Wright (Steven), Nicholas Hernandez (Stacy), Jonathan Hernandez (Kelsey), Savannah Selem, Rebecca Martin (Caleb), and Joseph Hernandez (Amy); her great grandchildren Cameron, Elliott, Natalie, Maddox, and Kai; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her family she cherished many special friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 16, 2022 at 2:00pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, GA. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
