She was born in St. Johns, Antigua on August 2nd 1937 and later migrated to the St. Croix, USVI as a single mother to pursue a better life for her family.
If there was ever a true definition of green thumb, you will find a picture of Cynthia Benjamin. Her family and friends will always remember her natural talent to make anything grow. Her gardens (her other children as we normally call them) would be proof of this. Cynthia is also known for her Culinary skills. For most of her professional life she worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry. She held titles such Lead Head Cook at the St. Croix Yacht Club.
Cynthia is survived by her daughter Lucilla Lake; Son in law Rupert Lake; Son Cyril Brown; Grandsons Rupert Lake Jr and Anthony Lake; Great granddaughter Chloe Lake.
She is also survived by her 3 sisters Genevieve George, Avis Beckles, and Ronia Daniel.
Nieces: Olivia Martin, Connie Benjamin, Karen George, Alginia Joseph, Pricilla Beckles, Hazel Beckles
Nephews: Charlesworth Benjamin, Ronald Michael, George Beckles, Frithup Beckles, Cole Daniel (Preceded in Death) and Craig Daniel, many Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Funeral Services will be at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00am with burial to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Viewing will take place from 9:30am to the hour of service.
