Anthony Darnell Dowdell

Anthony D. Dowdell (Tony) of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the age of 63. He was born on November 10, 1958 in Warren, Ohio where he grew up surrounded by loving family and friends.

Anthony graduated from Harding High School in 1977 and went on to work as production technician and supervisor in various ink and paint manufacturing companies. He was actively involved in the Hearthstone neighborhood and Mountain Park. Tony had a love of music, especially jazz music. He cherished his time walking in the park and visiting with friends. He loved spending time with his wife and dog, Paisley.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, William Roger Dowdell, and both beloved grandmothers. Anthony is survived by his wife, Myra Wheat; mother, Carol Henderson; sisters Kim Dowdell, Latonia Dowdell, and Nuri Reed; brother Robert Davis; daughters Tamara Bonner, and Natasha Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great – grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

The family would like to thank the Hearthstone neighbors and other friends for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days. They would also like to thank the caring staff at Emory Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at following the service a small reception and repast.
