Zola A. Hennrick, age 96, of Traverse City passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions Dogwood Unit. She was born March 31, 1917 in Traverse City to Clarence “Chi” and Ivah (Wood) Chichester.
She married the late Frank E. Hennrick on December 14, 1941 in Traverse City. Together they raised 3 children.
Zola worked for Detweiler’s Drug Store until she was 75. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker, and rose gardener. She loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Sharron Browning of Traverse City and son Ed (Patti) Hennrick of Traverse City, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Zola was preceded in death by her husband Frank and daughter Jacki Mummey and brothers Clarence “Bud” Chichester and Jack Chichester.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Funeral will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11 am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of the Grand Traverse Pavilions Dogwood Unit for their care and compassion towards Zola.
Memorial contributions in Zola’s name may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
