Wayne is survived by his sister Karen (Joseph) Getchel of WI, his brother Joel Buck of MI and his sister Jeannie Buck of MI. He was an uncle to Stephanie (Daniel) Bolda of WI, Amy (Ernest) Keen of NY, Jolee Graff of WI, John (Ashleigh) Buck of MI, Charles Buck of MI. He also had several fantastic nieces and nephews. He will be missed by special friends Jan Voice, Marty Oien, Carrie O’Brien and Joel Rohl.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Buck and Shirley Buck, and nephew Matthew Getchel.
Wayne graduated from Traverse City Senior High School with a College Preparatory Diploma. He worked at Giantway for over 20 years, and worked for Ric’s Food Market in Interlochen, MI until he retired in 2015 due to health issues.
He really loved bowling on two leagues, playing on 3 softball leagues, golf in his younger days, and he was always up for playing cards. He also loved watching his beloved Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.
Per Wayne's wishes, a ceremony and celebration of his life will be held at Incredible Mo’s in Chum’s Corners on April 5th from 2-5 pm. Please come to remember Wayne & bowl a game or two.
Through Wayne's friendship with Marty Oien, he taught Marty's son, Marcus how to bowl. Marcus, Manager at Papa Johns, is working on becoming a professional bowler. In memory of Wayne and in lieu of flowers, we ask you to please donate to Marcus Oien's pro-bowling fund. Marcus and his family were instrumental in helping Wayne over the years and this would be a great honor to Wayne to know he's helping Marcus achieve this. Donation envelopes will be available at the celebration at Incredible Mo's conference or you may donate through Covell Funeral Home. We hope you will join us.
Many thanks to all the medical people who helped take care of him the past few years. You are greatly appreciated! Also thanks to all the special friends he had over the years. You all meant so much to him, and his family appreciates your love and support of him.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will have eternal life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
