Dick was born on October 12, 1944 to Edward T. Scott Jr. and Theresa F. (Beaujean) Scott in Mt. Clements, MI. He graduated High School at St. Francis High School in Traverse City, MI in 1962. He married the love of his life (JoAnne Clous) in 1964. They were married 51 years when she passed away in 2016.
He drove a truck for Gordon Food Services and retired from that in 1992. Dick later became a Realtor for about seven years. Dick enjoyed camping and was heavily involved in scouting. Later in life, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed helping as he was able.
Dick is survived by his brother, Bill (Gert) Scott and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Sally) Clous, Richard (Ann) Clous, Marlene (Edward) Robinson, Nancy (Robert) Scholl, Donald (Patty) Clous, Gary (Elizabeth) Clous, Linda (Jake) Roop, Jane (Michael) Krajnik, and Ken (Louise) Clous as well as many nieces and nephews, his faithful dog, Boots, and his special friend, Pat Lints.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne, his parents, brother Paul Scott and sister Peggy Lou Bullock.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Traverse City, MI on Thursday, June 28 at 10:00 am with Visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council #13958.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
