Raymond James Waslawski of Traverse City passed unexpectedly on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Traverse City Munson Hospital.
Ray Waslawski, 83, was born in Maple City, Michigan, the son of Isadore and Genevieve (Radtke) Waslawski.
Ray went to High School at Maple City High School and then went on to graduate from Central Michigan University in 1960. He then married the love of his life, June Annette Skiver on July 14th 1962 and enjoyed raising their 3 children on Long Lake. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Ray worked at Tempo Proctor & Gamble for 13 years and then was very successful in selling real estate for Century 21. Ray loved his music (polka) and playing the accordion and the concertina. He loved playing cards, dancing, baseball, sunset pontoon cruises on the lake as well as the challenge of the slot machines.
Ray is survived by son, James (Lisa) Waslawski, daughter Karen Waslawski (Ross Leck) and son John Waslawski and two grandsons, Trevor and Tyler, whom he adored, and his sister Delores Kratochvil (Alex Peplinski).
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, June Waslawski, his sister Dorothy Walters, his parents, Isadore & Genevieve Waslawski and his brother Edward Waslawski
On Saturday, March 3rd, visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Church in the Lounge area, starting at 10 AM. A Mass will be held at 11 AM with a luncheon immediately afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ray’s name may be directed to the Long Lake Fire Department or to the Father Fred Foundation.
