Dolores was born on March 5, 1925 in Flint, the daughter of Charlie and Laura (Cook) Wilson. On August 14, 1959, she was wed to William Bradford and together, they raised four children. Dolores enjoyed camping, dancing with her husband and ceramics. She spent her time completing crossword puzzles and helping out at the Bingo lunches. Later in life, she filled her time watching old TV re-runs and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon!
Dolores shared her love with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved learning about people and really getting to know them. She was not afraid to share her opinion and enjoyed volunteering when she could. Dolores retired from Michigan Bell in 1988, was a member of VFW Cherryland Post 2780 Ladies Auxillary, St. Francis Catholic Church where she enjoyed attending Mass when she was able.
Dolores is survived by her children, Mary Rountree, Raymond Bradford, Rick Bradford, and John (Nancy) Bradford; grandchildren, Ray Jr. and Bill Bradford, Rich (Jennifer) Rountree, and Jordan (Briana) and Rachel Bradford; great grandchildren, Brenden, Kailyn, Jozlyn, Stephanie, and Avery Bradford. Andrew and Jacob Emmons. Emma and Nicholas Rountree. Other family members include siblings-in-law, Edwin and Beverly Thirlby, Julie Telgard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband, William Bradford; parents, Charlie and Laura Wilson; and sister, Betty Feigin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 5 to 8 pm at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, Sept. 15, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or VFW Cherryland Post 2780 Ladies Auxillary.
