William Ray Gross, a 44 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2005 in Torrance. Born in St. Louis, MO., William was 78 when he died. William had served in the Navy during WWII and Korea and retired as a Vice President with Bank of America. William is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of Torrance, CA., sons, James Gross of Albuquerque NM, and William Gross, Jr. of Cary, NC., daughter, Marianne Mitchell of Torrance, CA., brothers, Charles Gross of Hisperia, CA., Glenn Gross of Hisperia, CA., and sister, Patricia Gross of Hisperia, CA. A gathering of family & friends will be held at McCormick Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Vigil service at 7:15 P.M. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Church on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. William left a wonderful legacy of kindness and love. He will be remembered as a great man by everyone who knew him.
