On July 19, 2019, Timothy Moore, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away at the age of 62. Timothy was born on July 23, 1956 in Seattle, WA to Ross and Nancy (Lunday) Moore. His family settled in Redondo Beach, CA in 1971 and Timothy graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1975. After high school, he worked as a machinist and later started his own handyman business, which he operated for decades.
Timothy was a man of varied interests and hobbies; such as woodworking, astronomy, computer science, gardening, baking, inventing, Corgi car collecting and was an enthusiast of Opel vehicles. He enjoyed spending time at Warner Springs Ranch, the Highland Games, the Long Beach Grand Prix, exploring the desert, playing billiards, and attending movies at the theater. Timothy was a talented woodworker and enjoyed gifting his wood-crafted pieces to his family at Christmas and other occasions. He always had an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Timothy was an avid amateur astronomer and also a Commodore Computer aficionado. He was a long-time member of the South Bay Astronomical Society. He was passionate about sharing his knowledge of astronomy and exploration of the cosmos with the community and regularly attended Desert Star Parties with his large telescope in tow. He was a long-time member and served as past-president of the Commodore Computer Club. He enjoyed the camaraderie and sharing of knowledge with fellow enthusiasts and produced the club’s newsletter for many years. Above all, Timothy was very generous with his time and talents - family and friends could always count on him in times of need.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father Ross Lynn Moore, his eldest sister Nancy Moore White and 2 young nephews Julius and Gabriel. He is survived by his mother Nancy; 10 siblings, Mary Collier (Phil), Candace Moore (Tim), Ross Moore (Mari), Sarah Moore (Karl), Davida Moore, Megan Moore (David), Melissa Moore, Mathew Moore, Molly DeShazo (Thomas), Brigid Ramirez (Julius); 23 nieces and nephews, Catherine (White) Milligan, Aaron White, Alexis White, Elizabeth (Kordich) Sletten, Emily Collier, Amanda Tomlinson, Jessica (Moore) Reed, Ross Moore, Sachiko Moore, Spencer Gibb, Reece Gibb, Avery Throop, Molly Throop, Warner Throop, Harper Throop, Bridgette (DeShazo) Valadao, Nicole (DeShazo) Olson, Morgan DeShazo, Alexander DeShazo, Dominic DeShazo, Anthony DeShazo, Olivia DeShazo and Julianna Ramirez; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and 2 long-time friends Richard Shortridge and Michael Steele.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hermosa Beach, CA.
