Sister Elizabeth Anne Malone

Sister Elizabeth Anne Malone, C.S.J. age 96, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles, California and was a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since March 19, 1945. During her years of ministry, she served as teacher, principal, superior, registrar, in business education, advisor, and Mac Lab Supervisor

She was missioned to Mount St Mary’s Doheny Campus in 1967 and remained there for 43 years! Perhaps her greatest quality was her open, loving, hospitable personality. She was a welcome addition to any group and gently invited others into conversation, always adding a touch of humor and kindness. Her ready smile spoke of acceptance of all she encountered.

She is survived by her brothers Louis Malone and Robert Malone, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother George and her many dear friends in community.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Zoom, Monday, July 3 at 2:00 pm. A link will be available by contacting SMNinteman@csjla.

Funeral Liturgy in the Carondelet Center Chapel on Thursday, July 6 at 10:00 am. All in-person attendees to the services at Carondelet Center will be required to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination record. Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 6 at 1:30 pm and at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.
