Phyllis Darlene Watson passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Born in Essex, Iowa, Phyllis was 87 when she died. She graduated from Shenandoah High School and moved to California in 1946. After working for Lockheed in Burbank, she moved to the San Fernando Valley to raise a family. She spent the past six years at Harbor Terrace Retirement Community where she enjoyed a wonderful environment of activities and support. She loved the color pink, working puzzles and people. Her laughter and smile will be missed by many. Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jim and Lynn Watson of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; son, William Watson of Seattle, WA; and her sister, Rita Kay Sokoloff of Hollywood, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Paul Haley; her brother, Donald Haley; and her husband, William Watson, a World War II Veteran. Burial will take place at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Adamsville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Veterans Foundation at www.nvf.org.
