He was born in Zagreb, Croatia on March 3, 1943 to Nikola and Gizela Horvat. He graduated with a Degree in Engineering (Metallurgy) from Metlurski fakultet SIsak and was married to his beloved wife Jasna Horvat for 56 years (married on October 23, 1965).
Throughout his life he was proud of his work, gymnastics accomplishments and most of all his family. He enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by his friends and family. He enjoyed talking with people for hours on end and was the most engaging person one could ever speak too. We will miss long walks by his side and the endless wisdom that he would always share with us. He was a lover of sports such as basketball, Formula 1, martial arts, Nascar, soccer, tennis, and much more. Many people would say that he was their “Best Friend” and it was especially true for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
He was survived by his wife, Jasna Horvat, daughter Natasha Sharabacha, son Alex Horvat and spouse Angela Horvat, along with his grandchildren, Marija Sharabacha, Nikola Sharabacha, Paula Wright, Sophia Noelani Horvat, Robert Paul Horvat, and his great grandchild, Rey Wright. He would often greet us with a hug and the pronouncement that “Tarzan has arrived” and that “The chief of the tribe is here”. We will miss The Chief.
Service arrangements are still being prepared, please email Alex Horvat - ahorvat2012@gmail.com or Angela Horvat - angelahorvat@hotmail.com - for updates and further information.
