Patricia “Pat” Marie Quinn Hart-Holt an inspiration and beacon of faith, charity and compassion for 91 vibrant adventurous years, has departed our world on November 22, 2024, forever to be cherished in our hearts. She was the second of two daughters Grace Quinn Connelly born to Lawrence and Irene Loomis Quinn on March 14, 1933. With Irish in her blood and devotion in her soul, Pat embarked on a journey of knowledge and service. She attended Bishop Conaty Our Lady of Loreto where she met lifelong friends, also nicknamed by a priest as the {THUGS} and in 1950 graduated as Valedictorian of her class. While attending Mount St. Mary’s University where she earned a degree in 1954 in bacteriology and a minor in chemistry, she met her first husband John (Jack) Edward Hart after a brief courtship of seven months they were married on Jan. 29, 1955. Upon graduation Pat worked full time to support her family as a certified medical technologist in chemistry, biology, cytology and epidemiology at the VA on a UCLA research grant. During this period her husband Jack graduated from Loyola University 1960, and she gave birth to three of their six children. By 1968 Pat and Jack’s family had grown to six children Kathy(Rick Morris), Tim(Marilyn), Colleen(Gordon Clarry), Maureen(Rick Chute), Sean(Ikuko) and Brendan(Laura). Pat and Jack shared a strong faith, virtues and family values for 21 years until Jack’s sudden passing on March 21, 1976. Before Jack’s passing they became heavily involved in their parish, first at Saint Francis Cabrini where many lasting friendships were developed, they also were among the first participants in marriage encounter where their list of friends grew exponentially. Widowed at the young age of 43 and with 4 children still living at home she started a new career working at Daniel Freeman Hospital Paramedic School, even with all these changes she continued serving opening her home to hosting exchange students, paramedic trainees and visiting priests and nuns from all over the world. After moving to El Segundo and being a widow for nearly 20 years Pat was introduced to Tom Holt also a widower, it wasn’t too long before they were engaged and on April 27, 1996, they were married. Their marriage blessed Pat with 5 loving adult stepchildren and their spouses Pam (Steve Lane), Matt (Jill), Elisabeth (Cliff Smith), Danna (Roger Ramos) and Lois (Steve Stone). With Tom’s warm and gentle smile and Pat’s charismatic and passionate spirit, their love for family has blessed them with 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. While Pat was dedicated to sending cards out for everyone’s birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas’s they always found ways to juggle around all the holidays and monumental occasions such as weddings, baptisms, graduations and so on, to celebrate with everyone. Unfortunately, Tom left us all too soon in July 2009 but Pat continued to remain active and social in all aspects of her life, her lifelong passion for reading led her to many book clubs, she became a Cornerstone Sister, a Was club partier and a lifetime member Long Beach Group friend. When Pat moved to El Segundo she joined her beloved parish American Martyrs and quickly became an active parishioner volunteering, counseling, mentoring she was a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister, Stephen Minister, Altar society she was a choir member and volunteered in the Rectory. Pat led a life of service and devotion but she still found time to enjoy a good book, a crossword puzzle( always using a pen) and a nice glass of wine but wasn’t afraid to try new things in her golden years. She tried horseback riding parasailing and on her 80th birthday she went zip lining. She liked to travel visiting Alaska, Ireland, Greece, Japan, Mexico and her annual trips to Lake Tahoe with Aunt Pat and her family. Pat was a pillar of faith, a sea of unconditional love and a universe of joy. Her legacy lives on in all the hearts she has touched.
