Moses Phazzy Ebow Dennis was born on September 4th, 1954, in Saltpond, Ghana, as the youngest of ten siblings. Growing up Moses learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and family, which became the foundation of his life's work. His life mantra was Patience Purpose Persistence and Perseverance. Moses had a thirst for knowledge, which led him to pursue higher education in the United States. He completed his Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration at the University of Texas at El Paso on August 31st, 1977. He also went on to earn another Bachelor’s degree of Arts on December 20th,1978 from University of Texas at El Paso. He further continued his education and acquired a Master of Business Administration in International Trade from Laredo State University December 19th, 1980. Moses began his career at a bank, where he worked diligently and rose through the ranks. However, his entrepreneurial spirit and love for real estate led him to pursue a new path as a real estate broker. He was an accomplished individual who made significant contributions to his community and profession. He eventually became the realtor president of California in the year 2012, a testament to his leadership and dedication to his profession. Moses was recognized and awarded for his many achievements, including serving as a member of the Nominating Committee in 2016, a member of the California Association of Realtors in 2015, and a Region 21 Chairman of the California Association of Realtors. He was also a Director of the California Association of Realtors from 2010 to 2016, a Treasurer of the Los Angeles County Boards of Real Estate in 2015 and received various other awards for his distinguished service. He was also a coach and an avid sportsman who spent countless hours coaching young athletes instilling in them the values of hard work and perseverance that he learned as a child, not to forget his love for Politics. In addition to his professional and personal accomplishments, Moses was also fluent in Spanish and French, which allowed him to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures. He was involved in various leadership roles in organizations such as the California Track Starters Association, the South Bay Association of Realtors, and the Citizen Oversight Committee of the Centinela Valley Unified High School District. Despite his professional success, Moses never lost sight of what was most important to him: his family. He was a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was the father of two daughters, Faustina Dennis and Leslie White, “My Girls” as he called them. He was a grandfather to five amazing grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather who always provided unwavering love and support. Moses Phazzy Ebow Dennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched. He will always be remembered for his warmth, humor, kindness, and his commitment to making a positive impact on the world around him. Celebrating his life and forever cherishing his memories are his daughters Faustina Dennis and Leslie (Scotty) White. Grandchildren: Samori White, Yvette Assan Sackey, Marc Blair Jr, Lesley Assan Sackey and Seriya White. Siblings: Edward Dennis, Joana Dennis Ogoe, and Baaba Theresa Hagan, He is preceded in death by both parents and 6 siblings (3 brothers and 3 sisters) as well as a great host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Moses Phazzy Dennis will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1340 11th St, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
