Lorenzo Gomez was a resident of Redondo Beach for more than 80 years. He was a graduate of Beryl School and Redondo Union High School class of 1945. He played football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from El Camino College 1948 where he played baseball as a El Camino Warrior and graduated with a Business Degree. He was a member of the "Drifters" Car Club, Senile Seahawks and the Gardena Elks..
He served in the Air Force and trained and served as a Medic. He was employed by GTE/ Verizon and retired after 47 years. He enjoyed body surfing on Second Street in Hermosa Beach. He was proud of the home, family and friends that he held so close to his heart.
He leaves his wife Emma Gomez (Saucedo) of 66 years, his daughter Debra Clark (Gomez) and her husband Reed, grandchildren Cassandra Gill (Clark), Analicia Gomez, Ariana Gibson(Gomez) and Christoper Loren Clark. He was a loved great-grandfather of Presley Gomez and Sophie Gomez and Samantha Gill. As well as uncle, godfather and a good friend to all he met.
He is preceded in death by his son John George Gomez.
