Katharine ''Katie'' R. Lundin

January 13, 1924 - April 12, 2005

Katharine Rhoda Lundin, a longtime resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 12th. Katie was 81 when she died. She is survived by her son James (and wife Jamie) Lundin of Santa Cruz, CA; her son, Randy (and wife Kelli) Lundin of Redondo Beach, CA, and her daughter, Susan (and husband Rick) Boettner of Manhattan Beach, CA. Her grandchildren include Lucas Lundin, Janelle Lundin, Ayla Lundin, Annika Lundin, Liam Lundin, Jalen Lundin, Drew Boettner, and Renee Boettner.

Born in Rome, NY, Katie moved to California after The Great Depression and finally settled in Manhattan Beach in 1968. Katie was a dedicated escrow officer, business owner, and real estate entrepreneur in the beach cities. Her home and heart were always open to all who needed love, guidance, and inspiration. She loved her garden, her dogs, and most of all her family. She will be remembered for her incredible strength, fortitude, and determination to live life on her own terms. Her lasting legacy is in the many friends she made and the great amount of people she influenced. No one will ever forget “Katie”.

Services will be held at White & Day Mortuary, 3215 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, Manhattan Beach, on Sunday, May 1st, 2005 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association.
