My condolences and sincere sympathy to the Perahia family.  I knew the family in the 70’s when Leon hired me to help him in his flower shop.  He was an example of hard work, decency, and dedication to his brother, Josh.  May you all find comfort together in this difficult time.

Nearly ten years of rehearsals, I'd be willing to bet a large percentage of those sessions never produced a single musical note.  Talking, laughing, pranking (yes Josh, I received your message (payback) loud a clear a few days ago!) and of course watching little David do just about anything his uncles would entice him into doing ended up being how we spent our time. But those were some of the best times! "Don't tell him to do that you guys!" would always be Josh's response after David joyfully did whatever creative task we had him perform.  Both Josh and David's laughter reassured his uncles that all is well and that we were creating great memories. "Release The Gas!" will always remain a classic hit as will "The Radio". 

I will miss you by brother Josh. I will cherish the time we spent together making the greatest music in the universe. Keep writing those great songs because we will make music again. God bless you my dear friend, you will always be a huge part of my life. Eric

Joshua was a unique and talented man. It is with great shock and sadness that many of us hear of his passing.

Many prayers to his family - especially his son, Davey - who was devoted to his father as Joshua was devoted to him.
He was a loving father who only wanted the best for his only child. The two shared a very special and positive bond.

Joshua has graced us all with many years worth of albums and performances showcasing his fantastic music -- and for that we shall be grateful. His talent knew no bounds.

Joshua may have left us - but being a man of great faith we know that he has only "moved on" from this Earthly Dimension - and is now lovingly within The Father's Hands.

So sad to hear about Josh's passing.  He was my guitar instructor more than 40 years ago.  My brothers and I were huge fans (and friends) back in the Blind Owl days.  I think of Josh and his brother Leon often. I hope he's up there rockin' with some of the best.

The Flight Of Life
At birth, we boarded the Plane of Life and met our parents, and we believed that they would always travel by our side. However, at some airport, our parents would step out from the plane, leaving us to travel on life's journey alone.
As time goes by, some significant people will board the aircraft: Siblings, our children, friends, and even the love of our life.
Many will step out at different airports and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we won't realize that they vacated their seats! This plane ride has been a mixture of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.
A successful journey consists of having a good relationship with all passengers, requiring that we give the best of ourselves. The mystery that prevails is that we do not know at which airport we ourselves will step out. Thus, we must try to travel along the Flight of Life in the best possible way..........loving, forgiving, giving, and sharing.
When the time comes for us to leave the Flight of Life and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who continue to fly the Flight of Life. Josh left a beautiful memory for me and 10s of thousands of fans around the globe.
Let’s remember to thank our captain/creator for giving us life to participate in this journey.

It's so sad, for us. Joshua, he's doing better then ever. He was fed up with this world. Fed up with sin. No worries now. 
It's especially sad for Davey, who not only lost his dad, but also his best friend. 
Hanging out with them was always a highlight of my vacations, and I hope Davey will keep up the tradition of us driving through the Christmas lights neighborhood blasting the latest Joshua release.

He was a living legend, who preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ through his music. A friend and a brother in Christ who has changed my life. And yes, he was one of the best guitarist and songwriter of all time. He will be missed. 🎸😥🙏🙏🎸

I m shocked to hear the news my great friend passed away,  so many memories. I interviewed Josh with the release of Mpire through Long Island. He invited me in his home , went to the beach and had a great time impersenating inspector Clousso  we were gooffy. As I was going to picked up by mr Paul Shirtino at Josh s house, Paul called his truck broke down so Josh  made an exception to the rule no industry people,  record bobos to stay the night. I ll never forget that. My condolences to Davy and his family.  Love Mars.

I was Lucky enough to see him back in the Day at the Dynamo Festival in Holland.It was the highlight of the Day. R.I.P. Joshua.

I would like to express my deepest condolences, and if it brings any comfort to Joshua Perahia's family, I would like to say that Joshua has inspired many lives with his music, including that of a young man from El Salvador (the smallest country in Central America). Let us not forget that death is part of life, and I believe that one day we will be able to hear his wonderful music live again.

Just remembered another story about how excited Josh was when he was in the Studio with a  Record Producer his name was Keith Olson who brought in a few Known Artists to play with Joshua.   When he found out that his Favorite Singer Alex Leigerwood ex Lead Singer For Santana and Jason Scheff From Chicago and Robert Baker keyboards for Santana also made a song called “Remembering You “ That Song Brought Joshua Back in time and so Proud to be Playing with some of His Favorite Artists 💯👍🙏

I knew Josh for over 50 years and attended his 16th Birthday Party Celebration when we were just kids.   Josh already had this incredible gift for Playing Guitar and it made it His Life!!   I have more memories than I can count!!  You’re going to be missed 😎🙏
