Foley, John Leonard, a 46 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on November 6, 2006. Born in Detroit, MI, John was 81 when he died. John had served in the Navy during World War II. John was a member of the MIchigan AmVets. He worked for 20 years at Garrett Aircraft, a predecessor to Honeywell. He was interested in all sports, and was a fan of the Dodgers. He enjoyed cross word puzzles and collected Snoopy memorabilia.
He is survived by his Son, Roger (Diane) Foley of Forest Grove, OR; Daughter, Mary Ellen (Robert) Frost of Harrison, MI; Sister, Sylvia Kish of MI; four Grandchildren and twelve Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Evelyn Foley, Father, Thomas Foley, and Mother, Verna Foley, and two granddaughters, Kathleen and Karen Burdick.
A gathering of family & friends will be held on Friday November 10, 2006 from 5-6pm at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. The Service will be held on Saturday November 11, 2006 at 10am also at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, followed by Burial at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice Care.
