Ian William Wright. Born in Torrance, California on December 23, 1990, and passed away on March 17, 2006. Ian was struck by a car while he was in a crosswalk on Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach.
Ian was an enthusiastic, spirited 15 year old, who loved the outdoors, and especially the water. He was an ardent adventure-seeker who enjoyed rock climbing, hiking, surfing and scuba diving. A ninth grader at Village Glen School in Culver City, Ian is remembered by his family and friends as a sensitive soul with a passion for history, and dreams of one day pursuing a career in marine biology.
He is survived by his mother, Ellen Jowitt Wright of Hermosa Beach, father William Richard Wright of Redondo Beach, and his sister Katherine Wright, a senior at Mira Costa High School. Other family members include grandmothers Maggie Jowitt of Indianapolis and Irene Wright of San Francisco, uncles Kevin Jowitt of Indianapolis and Richard Lapping of San Francisco and aunt Carolyn Wright of San Francisco.
Through organ donation, Ian's passing is helping many other people live longer, healthier lives. A memorial fund has been established to honor Ian's memory.

Rosary will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Rice Mortuary 5310 Torrance Blvd., Torrance, CA.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church 624 15th Street, Manhattan Beach, CA.
