A funeral mass for Harold will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1PM at St. Lawrence Martyr Church, 1940 S Prospect Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. A committal will occur Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W Slauson Ave, Culver City, CA 90230.
Harold Leon Schmidt, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away surrounded by love on December 18, 2024.
Born in Kansas, as the youngest of eight siblings, Harold’s life was shaped by the closeness and joy of his large family. At an early age, he moved to California, where he built a successful career as an attorney, all while traveling and lovingly caring for his mother.
Harold, aka "Boots," was the best friend you could ever hope to have - kind, loyal, and endlessly generous. Although he never married or had children, Harold poured his heart into his many nieces and nephews, becoming a constant source of love and guidance in their lives.
Harold was known for his adventurous spirit and love for bringing people together, whether through motorcycle rides, family meals,or cherished gatherings like his beloved Christmas events, Easter celebrations, summer pool parties, and picnics. Making others feel welcome and special was his greatest gift.
He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be forever remembered for his warmth, selflessness, and the way he made everyone part of “the family”.
Harold’s Legacy is one of love, warmth and togetherness,inspiring all who knew him to treasure their own family and friendships.
