"Gilda Calisterio Gonzales, 75, of Carson passed away Friday, April 26, 2019. She was born August 26, 1943 in Salindeg, Vigan, Ilocos Sur in the Philippines.
Gilda worked as a chemist for CPR Upjohn (later Dow Chemical) from 1968-1985. During her tenure at CPR, she helped develop the rigid foam that was used on the US Navy's aircraft carriers.
During her retirement, Gilda continued to enjoy her hobbies. She was an avid bowler and loved watching Angels and Dodgers baseball. She always made sure to tune in to Jeopardy and never missed an episode. An avid shopper, Gilda's love of a good bargain was passed on to her children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Adriano; daughters Stephanie Odella (Andrew) and Adrienne Helbling (Steve); son Rupert; and grandchildren David Helbling and Emma Helbling.
