It is with great sadness that the family of Constance Palina Weber, a 46 year resident of Torrance, announces her passing on Sunday, April 5, 2009. Born March 28, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Connie was 85 at the time. Constance was a member of the Nursing Corps in the Twin Cities, serving in World War II. She was a Register Nurse for over 40 years and retired after many years as a nursing supervisor at South Bay Hospital, Redondo Beach, CA. After her retirement she enjoyed many years of square dancing and ballroom dancing in the community. Connie also volunteered at the South Coast Botanical Gardens and taught reading to adults through a literacy program. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Laura (Dale) Kitchen of Manhattan Beach, CA; son, Wayne (Millie) Weber of Torrance, CA; brother, Manny (Marcia) Frangos of Encinitas, CA; granddaughter Natalie (Daniel) Inks and her children Emily and Jacob; granddaughter Holly (Ron) Long and their children Mikayla and Kai; and grandson Jonathan Kitchen; nieces and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Weber, her parents, Laura and Panos Frangos; and her sister, Kathryn Bloodgood.
Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
