Bonnie Jean Peterson

Bonnie Jean Peterson was born on December 28, 1920, and passed peacefully December 1, 2007, in Hermosa Beach, California. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family so special to her during her memorable life.

Bonnie’s life was filled with family and friends who were touched by her gentle smile and kind ways. She was truly a role model for those who knew her. She was born in Boone County, Nebraska and moved to California in 1938. While raising her children with her beloved husband, Kenneth, the family resided in Glendora, California.

Although Bonnie’s illness made her frail, she possessed great strength and perseverance. Her courage led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She loved being with her family, especially her daughter and son. Her eyes would light up when the grandchildren came to visit and spent quality time with their beloved Grandma. Bonnie was truly an inspiration to all of us. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping in her motor home and traveling with her beloved husband, Ken.

With Bonnie’s passing, we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss her everyday, especially her positive attitude and incredible smile, she will remain forever in our hearts. We hold dear the memory of her gentle spirit.

Bonnie leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life. She will be dearly missed by all of her special caregivers at Sunrise. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Bonnie with love and dignity during the past few years.

Bonnie was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth Peterson, whom she currently shares a special place in heaven.

Bonnie is survived by her loving children, Nancy Kinninger and Gordon Peterson; their spouses, David and Dawn; her loving grandchildren Michael (April) Kinninger, Steve Kinninger, Blaine Skinner and Ryan Peterson and her great grandson, Kaden Skinner. She is also survived by her brother Harry Fonda, Sister-in-laws Jerry Fonda, Amy Peterson, Doris Stott and brother-in-laws Curt Peterson, Dean Peterson, Lloyd Stott and Lee Harrell, along with many nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM at White & Day in Manhattan Beach, California.
