Although a very long time ago, I was friends of Laurie and often played at her house. I lived on the corner of Williamson Rd.  Dr. Jones was our family doctor, and my parents both spoke fondly of him and the care he gave for many years. Most of my lovely memories of Dr. Jones were at his home , with Mrs Jones and  Laurie and her siblings. My condolences to Laurie, Mrs. Jones and family.

We were all very saddened to hear of Dr. Jones' passing.   We extend our sincere condolences to Dr. Jones' family.   Our family grew up a few doors from up from Skip on Hammersmith Avenue in The Beach.   In fact, Skip babysat me once or twice when he was in medical school when I was a wee tot.   Skip ended up being my Grandmother's and parent's family Physician for many years and was a special friend to our family....and to my Dad.   He was always welcoming and unhurried, taking the time to listen and make one comfortable.   In Dad's final months when he could no longer travel to his appts., Skip made house calls....he was such a kind and caring man.  They truly broke the mould when they made Dr. Skip Jones.   We feel blessed to have known him.   

Thank you so much Doctor Wentworth Jones  for you great care and kindness for The Late Richard Victor Hamilton will miss and always remember a fine gentleman my sympathy and condolences to mrs.Jones and family

Was saddened to read about Dr. Jones passing.
He was my Mother's, Marion Sedgwick, doctor for more years than I can remember.  My family moved from the west end of Toronto to Ashdale Ave 55 years ago and it wasn't too many years later that Mom became a patient of the Drs. Right from day one she 
thought the world of him.  Considered him a 
true gentleman.  My beautiful Mother passed in August 2013.  Over the last years of her life the Dr always had time for her as her health started to decline.  He always told me when I would take Mom to his office or when he came to her home, that our main concern at that stage of my Mom's life, was
to make it possible for her to stay in her own home.  With all his concern and kindness that is what happened.  I will always be thankful for Dr. Jones wonderful care and friendship that he gave to Mom over all the years.  Try to remember that he has not really left any of the family, just moved to a better place where he is waiting for all to you to join him.  Thank you Dr Jones, I will always remember you.

So sorry to hear about Skip. My heart goes out to the Jones family. Skip was so kind to my mother Carol Goodman in 2012/13 when she was ill and it was very much appreciated. Just a good man. Rest in peace Skip.

Skip was a highly respected colleague who always brought a positive topics and discussions to our class reunions. We will miss him as will his family and many long-time patients.

I can't believe the news.  Dr. Jones was my doctor growing up in the Beach.  I have many fond memories playing with Lily and Tom as Shirley and Skip were friends with my parents as well.  Such a sad time for all of you and I'm truly sorry for your loss.

I am very saddened to receive this news. I loved seeing Dr. Jones around the neighborhood when we lived there for 3 years. Love to Mrs. Jones and all his family.

To Laurie (my childhood best friend) and your entire family my thoughts & prayers are with all of you. My Mom, Betty McLeod was one of Skip's first patient's and my daughter Sara was one of the last babies Skip delivered. My mother was born in 1931, and was raised in the beach just like Skip. Together they both went to Malvern Collegiate in the beach. Both of them were FIERCLY proud of Malvern Collegiate. That has to be said about Skip. And I haven't seen that mentioned on here yet. He was fiercely loyal to his alma mater. I would have doctors appointments with him and he would start by telling me that he just came from a Malvern Collegiate football game. And he would fondly dutifully and proudly describe the game to me during my appointment, no, visit. Lol. Before we even got to my issue. And that was totally cool with me. He loved Malvern.
after being born at east general in the late 60's and growing up in Markham in the 60's, me and my little sister were always subjected to numerous "onward malvern" sing songs directed by my beach mother.  When i was in my eary thirties i moved out of Markham and into the beach. I had just gotten a part time job at the queen and lee beaches LCBO. Around 2005. When I mentioned to a work colleague that i needed to find a doctor in the beach, my friend whose family was always looked after by doctor jones naturally recommended him. 
Lucky for me he took me on as a new patient. 
I have never had a better doctor.
Like another poster has already said, "appointments" became "visits". Lol.  He was never interested in "rushing" patients thru the turnstile and out the door in an effort to make more money.
His focus was on his patients well being, first and foremost.
I used to live a block from his office and walked to my appointments. His office was glorious as the sun shone in on the south side of number 2 Lyall Ave. his old school receptionists were delightful and very helpful. The waiting room was classic old school. I loved it. And lots of magazines to read before everyone had their heads buried in their cellphones. Lol. 
I am so ingratiated and PROUD to have met him and to have him as my primary family physician for the last few years of his life. He was a wonderful guy, a wonderful doctor, a wonderful human being. 
I can't tell u how sad this news is.
I wasn't a life long beacher, balmy beach canoe club member or ashbridges bay yacht club member, but he always treated me like i was. He was a Top top top notch doctor. And I'm So glad i crossed paths with him.

Uncle Skip took care of four generations of our familyand always with patience and kindness.
He was a Norman Rockwell Doctor; his office was like a museum, filled with interesting and wonderful treasures and his stories always entertained my son while he gently gave him his vaccinations.
Often, appointments became visits where he always checked to make sure everything else was okay, too.
And when we couldn't get to him, he came to us. Many times. He never let us down. He never let anyone down.
Uncle Skip visited almost daily our elderly neighbour as she lived the final chapter of her life, just to check in, because that was the kind of doctor and man he was.
Skip was a pillar of strength for his three younger sisters and was adored by them.
He was a neighbourhood hero. Everyone knew Dr Jones. Everyone had a story. Everyone appreciated  and trusted him. He will be sorely missed. He is, already.

Dr. Jones was a big part of our lives. He brought three of my children into this world and the last one (a boy) after having three girls.  He was born on Christmas day.  I always felt a little guilty dragging him away from his large family on Christmas Day.  He was as thrilled as we were about having a wee boy.  He was such a kind and caring person.  He will be missed.  Condolences to Shirley and all his family and extended family.  Love Jo Waites.

I am so shocked to have read this today. Dr. Jones was my family doctor for many years, as well as my parents. My dad was a patient of his for decades. Sadly I happens upon this as I was looking into my fathers obituary - who passed on the 15th. My condolences to the family, you were a great doctor.

Common sense and kindness were his trademarks. The very best family Doctor anyone could ever have. Loved and missed.

Thank you Uncle Skip for taking care of me when I cut my finger with my fishing knife. I was so scared and you helped me. I'll miss you.
