Wayne grew up in our local neighborhood and I considered him a friend. We were in cubs and scouting together and enjoyed all that we did in scouting.  We also shared classes together at Donwood Park Public School and Highbrook Senior Public School. 
Wayne had a caring and kind personality and I’m sure his family will miss him dearly.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Wayne's passing and we offer our sincere condolences to Wayne's family and friends.
Although I lost touch with Wayne over the years, my childhood memories of visiting with the Sheppards remain strong and will never be forgotten. 
Between 1963 and 1967 the Murphy's and the Sheppard's visited each other quite regularly and since Wayne was nearest to my age we became very close.
On visits to the Sheppard residence I recall eating chips and drinkingTahiti Treat with Wayne while listening to David & Kent's collection of 45's. 
Building rafts to sail down the creek and running down the street to catch the ice cream man for banana splits.
When the Sheppard's visited the Murphy residence Wayne and I were off to the farmers field or off to the park in the center of the complex while Kent and Brendan (who were closer in age to each other) were off to the gravel pits to shoot the pellet gun (While listening to "I'm Henery The 8th I Am", "Love Potion #9'', "Wooly Bully", and so many more).
I remember that intrical part of my childhood well and have often thought about those great days with my childhood buddy Wayne and his wonderful family (especially when I hear any of "the oldies" that we played!).
I always felt closeness and companionship whenever our families got together in those days and I'm so glad to have those memories to reflect on.
Once again we offer our sincere condolences to the Sheppard's for this great loss.


We would like to share with you are sincerest condolences  and know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Wayne was a very sweet man who was always smiling and joking. He was a great camper and friend. Remember to love each other and lean on friends and family to get through this ordeal. If we can help in any way please don't hesitate  to ask.

I was in shock to hear of Wayne’s passing. It is very sad that he didn’t  get to enjoy more of his retirement . Seem like the TTC has that effect on many of our retirees. Wayne was an awesome guy to work with full of fun and jokes. I am sure he will be missed. My condolences to his family and close friends.

Shocking news! I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne while working with Kris.  Kris and I grew very close so I heard some great stories about Wayne.  He always gave a hand to anyone who needed it..  Kris, I'm so sorry your going through this. My condolences to Wayne's family as well as you Kris, and your family.

My deepest condolences to Wayne's family.  I was shocked when I heard the news.  I sat in front and beside Wayne at work-Wheel Trans for many years and would like to share Wayne's way of life.  

Wayne would arrive at work in the lower parking area and listen to his music "at full volume" for everyone to enjoy.  Wayne was sick for only one day and decided to come into work without a doctors note.  A few days later, Wayne received a letter from Management basically saying he abused the system.  Wayne's reply was a totally  inappropriate letter, giving details of his illness.

Wayne was a one of a kind guy.  I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Wayne at our trailer park we both were at a few years back. What a great person always friendly and cheerful! 
Then to get to come up for a BBQ this past summer to their trailer Wayne being so proud of his garden. Keep those happy moments close and the joy you all shared with him even closer .

To the Sheppard Family. My deepest  condolences, so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Wayne in the Reservations Dept at Wheel-Trans. Take comfort in knowing that Wayne is at peace and watching over all of you.

So sorry to hear the sad news. 
We started working with Kris from the beginning and soon welcomed Wayne into our group of good friends. He was a very friendly, positive man, who loved life and family. So happy we were able to share a couple BBQ’ s and laughs this past summer. We will miss you Wayne.

My deepest condolences to Wayne's family.  I have many good memories of Wayne.  He was a wonderful colleague and friend.  He would often give us rides to the subway after work and we would laugh all the way there from Wheel Trans. He had a big heart and good soul.    I am very sad to hear of his passing.

He had such a deep love for his dog and I was fortunate to meet her a few times prior to his retirement.

My sincere condolences to Kris and all of Wayne's family.  It was heartbreaking to hear that my friend Kris had lost Wayne suddenly at home.  I met Wayne at work (TTC) while working with Kris.  Such a nice guy with a great smile.  I missed a chance to see him a their trailer this past summer.  Wish I had.  To all of Wayne's family, I hope you find peace in knowing that Wayne was a great person and touched many lives with his smile! Hugs to Kris and Janet.

Such sad news. I also had a great chat with Wayne at the Thomson reunion. He was such a nice guy, just like I remembered from high school. My condolences to his family 

I remember Wayne well. Seemed to always have a big smile and a laugh or two. Always friendly to me as I was not much of a 'it' person at Thomson C.I.. Will be sadly missed  Met up at the 2019 reunion. My wife and I send our condolences to his family. 

In the last few years Wayne and Kriss have resided in our co-opreative community. 

Wayne always had a smile on his face;  Wayne was the epitome of what a co-operative member is all about. 

Here I will share Wayne's last pic  as he walked his beloved Zooey the morning he passed.  Cheery, laughing and talking to neighbours on his way out the door.   That was Wayne!

So glad that I got the chance to reconnect with Shep at the Thomson reunion in May.
Shared many good times and great memories with him over the years.
He was truly 'one of a kind'. 

I first met Wayne in 1960, when he moved to Birkdale Road with the family.  He was always the happy smiling one.  I never really saw much of him from the 70’s on except for incidental contacts at restaurants and such.  He was still a happy and chatty kind of guy.  I know his family and friends will truly miss him.  My deepest condolences to all impacted by his passing. I will always remember him as that spunky little kid on Birkdale.

I am so shocked!  Just reacquainted with him at the reunion in May.  We had such a great conversation with a few big laughs.  I will treasure those.  My deepest condolences to his family!

I knew Wayne in high school and was fortunate enough to see him at the reunion held in May. He was a good guy, may he RIP.

My phone conversations with my brother (I live in Calgary) were always filled with great memories, insight into today's living but most of all with laughter. I will miss those conversations but I have the memories. You will be missed.

Wayne had a great laugh, and a wonderful sense of humor. He always could make me smile. RIP cousin.
