It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Wai Bing Won on July 5, 2023.
Loving mother to Louise (Bill Magner) and Andy (Alice Lee). Wonderful sister to Paul, Janet (Sam Wong), Anne (Michael Ng) and sister in law to Shirley (Greg Bannister). Cherished grandmother to Dylan and Nigel and warm auntie to Carol, Jason, Robert, Nelson, James and Emma. Predeceased by her husband Sun Yee Won. Wai Bing Won was born in Sept 1937 in Guangdong, China, grew up in Hong Kong until she emigrated to Canada to join Sun Yee in marriage and raise a family. Wai Bing had a generous spirit, her heart was big and she was devoted to her family. She had a wonderful long and joyous life with Sun Yee Won.
A funeral service in celebration of Mrs. Wai Bing Won will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St. North York. The visitation is from 10am to 11am followed by a Chinese funeral service commencing 11am to 12pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial at 12:30 pm at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York to follow.
A celebration of life reception will be held at 12:30pm at Dragon Pearl Restaurant, 865 York Mills Rd, North York.
