He leaves his beloved wife after 63 years; his four sons, six daughters, twenty three grandchildren, and many close friends.
He was born and raised in Nha Trang, Vietnam, and continued his journey in Canada in 1981 with his wife and nine kids.
In his life before Canada, he worked for the Republic of Vietnam National Police as the Second Lieutenant. After the fall of Saigon, he left his job and was taken to prison for five years. It was difficult living with the Vietcong. He looked for all by possible ways to escape the country so he could have a fresh start to his life with his children. In 1980, his four children succeeded in escaping Vietnam by boat. A year later, he escaped with three of his other children. Eventually him and six of his children were able to safely arrive in Canada. One of his daughters stayed in Vietnam; another daughter went to Switzerland. After he arrived in Canada, he soon sponsored his wife and two daughters over.
In Canada, he settled down with his family and he lived a happy life. His children grew older and eventually moved out to start their new path in their lives, and he lived a peaceful and healthy life with his wife. Thau was an active member of St. Jane Frances Church, and enjoyed attending the masses.
Canada has been a significant part of Thau’s life. He watched his children grow into adults
and create their own family; and he watched his grandchildren grow with great futures ahead of them. Thau has made a great impact on the lives of many people and we will all miss him dearly
