Predeceased by her loving parents Alfredo and Italia, Teresa was a devoted mother to her daughter Natalia (Vincent), loving sister to Louis (Diana) and Josie, and dear aunt to Nicholas.
Teresa enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends, including her adorable dog, Toby. She took great pride in creating her beautiful welcoming home. Sharing meals, movies, and memories filled her days with tears and laughter.
Teresa had a rewarding career as a financial advisor, starting with Scotiabank, and then with Alterna Savings. Over the years she made many lasting friendships with her respected colleagues and loyal clients.
At the young age of 53, Teresa was diagnosed with ALS. For the past three years she battled this devastating disease with much courage and incredible strength. Despite her ordeal, she always thought of others. Four women received the gift of life from Teresa’s organ donations. Her concern for the wellbeing of others has been one of her most endearing traits.
Our loss is Heaven’s gain … dear Teresa, until we meet again, we will cherish you and hold you close, forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank the teams from the ALS Clinic of Sunnybrook, the ALS Society of Canada, and Home & Community Care Support Services for their tremendous support and guidance.
In memory of Teresa, donations to ALS Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Nicholas Provenzano reflection at the service:
Hello, my name is Nicholas, Teresa was my Aunt. I want to thank all of you for joining us today to celebrate and commemorate the life of Teresa Provenzano, an amazing mom, sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend to many.
She was the youngest of three children to my Nonno Alfredo and Nonna Italia. With her older brother Louis and sister Josie she grew up in a household surrounded by a loving family. Teresa had many beloved memories of her childhood in particular the big family parties with all of her cousins of which she was the youngest.
Despite being the youngest in the family, she led us in keeping many family traditions. This fit her personality well as she was an amazing organizer and a bit of a drill sergeant ensuring everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing because she would let you know otherwise.
This was always evident with Sunday family lunch which was set for 12:30 sharp. If you wanted to have her delicious lasagna or cannelloni, a recipe which was passed down from my Nonna, you better be there on time or be reprimanded, as my mom and dad were many times for always making us late, because the meal was starting with or without you.
It was the similar with family birthdays which were sacred and had to be celebrated on the birth date, with a cake and card being a must.
There were several other traditions she kept over the years.
From going on annual weekend theatre trips to Stratford with Natalia
To the movies with her friend Paula – VIP theatre only – and adding on newer traditions such as Tuesday matinees at the Promenade with Josie, Anna and Rosanne
Or the numerous coffee, breakfast, and brunch outings over the years including recently with Nat to her new favourite meeting place, Café Moretti.
And Natalia will never forget their annual trips to the CNE.
Teresa was always open and welcoming to new people and dogs.
So, when Natalia decided she wanted a dog, Toby become a big part of our family A constant companion, following Teresa everywhere she went, knowing that if he pouted long enough there would be another treat coming, despite Natalia’s protests about his diet.
Teresa was also loved by her colleagues and clients. With several clients following her as she moved locations throughout her career seeking her valuable guidance as a financial advisor.
When she was diagnosed with ALS in November 2020, she showed unbelievable strength and perseverance, embracing life to the fullest.
She connected with past friends and colleagues recollecting past experiences.
She travelled, to Mykonos with her family in September 2021, and to the European Christmas Markets, with Christmas being her favourite holiday, in November 2021, creating many happy memories for us to cherish.
She spent days recording the family recipes, watching TV series, solving daily crossword puzzles, and creating color by number artwork.
She thankfully entertained my dad, commenting on his endless stream of bird and wildlife photos.
She brought family and friends closer, helping us reconnect by sharing wonderful outings and experiences.
She left everything in order, with thank you and instruction notes, which I am sure if we do not follow, she will still find a way to let us know!
Teresa thank you very much for the many gifts you provided to every one of us. We love you. We miss you. We will remember you.
