Teresa Baldassarra

Passed away on February 14, 2011 at the age of 74 after a courageous hard-fought battle with AML. Predeceased by her parents Loreto and Maria Giovanna, her devoted husband, Armando, and beloved son, Gabriel. Loving mother to Santina Salij (Stefan ) and to daughter-in-law Laura. Proud nonna of Michael, Daniel, Alaina and Alexandra. Treasured sister of Colomba Baldassarra (Luigi) and Giuseppe Baldassarra (Santina) of Sora, Italy. Dear Zia to Loreto (Natia), Addolorata(Antonio), Loreto(Conceta), Mirella(Roberto), Sterina, Tony(Lynn), Luciano and predeceased by Giuseppina. Teresa was a protective, strong-willed, savvy woman who will be remembered for her devotion to family and faith; for teaching us that passions and talents are meant to be shared for the benefit of those you love; for including ‘love’ as an ingredient in every dish she affectionately prepared for her family; for handing down knowledge learned at her mother’s knee about the importance of respect and compassion in our lives. She had a passion to make things grow and worked hard at nurturing love in her family and friends and in tending to the gardens that she tenderly, endlessly grew to grace our table. Family and friends will be received at the DELMORO FUNERAL HOME (61 Beverly Hills Drive) 416-249-4499 on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 7-9 pm and on Thursday, February 17,2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in ST. PHILIP NERI ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (On Jane Street at Beverly Hills Drive). Entombment to follow at GLENDALE MEMORIAL GARDENS (On Albion Road at Hwy. #27). In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Teresa may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
