Sylvia Baron R.N., of Toronto, passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Nov. 16th 2015 at 1:30pm. She was the proud and loving mother of Angela, Michael, Paul, Susan and Marie. Loving sister to Dr. Franklin Young, cherished grandmother of 9, most special aunt to 2 nieces and nephews, loved and dear friend of so many. Sylvia always will be remembered for her compassion, empathy and devotion to helping others. Sylvia graduated from UofT St. Michael's School of Nursing in 1955 and worked as an R.N. at St. Mike's Hospital; a Public Health Nurse in Kenora and Toronto; and as a counsellor at Street Haven and Grant House in Toronto. Words cannot express how much she will be missed and how she touched and influenced our lives. Visitation is Sunday, November 29th 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St., TO. Funeral Mass is on Monday November 30th, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 520 Sherbourne St., TO. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Native Women's Association of Canada (www. NWAC.ca) would be greatly appreciated and is in keeping with Sylvia's devotion and affection for First Nations peoples.
