It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Sau-Yung Wong, announce her passing on January 21, 2021 at the Seniors’ Health Centre, North York.
Sau-Yung was the devoted wife of more than 75 years of Victor Joseph Yi-Fong Wong, who predeceased her on July 22, 2020. Sau-Yung was a devoted daughter, grand-daughter, and daughter-in-law deeply loved by her family. She was also a loving mother. She was gentle, patient, kind, generous, resourceful, forgiving, and always wearing a smile on her face. She had great cooking and handicraft skills and great command of Chinese language. She is survived by her eight children and their spouses: Connie and David, Dominica and Henry, Grace and David, Elenore and KC, Lily and Willie, Michelle and Sibra, May and Jim, and David and Maria. She was also the proud and much-beloved Po-Po of thirteen grandchildren and doting great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren.
Heart-felt gratitude is extended to the Seniors’ Health Centre and the Cheltenham Care Community that cared for our mother during the last three years of her life. The hard work and endless support of all team members gave comfort to our family.
In accordance with our mother’s wishes, she will be buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery next to her late-husband. Due to the pandemic, only ten people are allowed to attend the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in our mother’s memory dedicated towards the safety equipment for the residents in the Senior’s Health Centre are appreciated by the family. Please contact the family members for donation details.
