Severino was born on September 7th, 1937 in Annone Veneto, Venezia, Italy, to parents, Pietro and Ernesta.
Severino leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Liliana. He was a loving and devoted father to Guerrino (Erin) and Antonella (Tony) and a cherished Nonno to Christian, Matthew, Stephanie and Gabriella.
He will be missed by his sisters Adelina, Anna, Severina and Pierina and will be reunited in heaven with his sister Giuseppina.
In his youth, Severino enjoyed spending time with his parents and sisters, working, watching local soccer teams and riding his Lambretta motor scooter. Severino married the love of his life, Liliana in 1964 in Azzano Decimo, Pordenone. Shortly after the arrival of their first child Guerrino, Severino made the difficult sacrifice to leave his beloved home and family, in pursuit of a better life to provide for his young family. Severino immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1966. As an incredibly hardworking and skilled tradesman, Severino began his long career in the construction industry as a plasterer.
While navigating life in a new country, he began building the home that he would share with his family for the rest of his life. A home that would soon welcome the arrival of their daughter, Antonella. A home where he, alongside his wife Liliana, worked hard to raise and support their two children, encouraging them to pursue anything they set their mind to. A home where he was surrounded by his beloved community, friends, and neighbours. A home that saw his children start their own lives and careers, marry, and have children of their own. Most importantly, Severino built a home that he made sure always was, and still is, filled with love, laughs, and endless memories.
Severino will be remembered by everyone who knew him for being a friendly, sweet, gentle, and sensitive man. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially in his garden where he would plant anything from fruits and vegetables to his favourite sunflowers. He enjoyed a dip in the hot tub when on vacation, watching his soccer team Udinese play, making wine and sitting on the veranda in the summertime. Severino was adored by his four grandchildren with whom he enjoyed playing at the park, going on fishing trips, sharing a game of Briscola and telling stories. Nothing brought him more joy, however, than sharing a meal and a laugh with his close family together.
Severino will forever be admired for his incredible strength and his ability to always crack a smile and make others laugh even when times were tough. He will be greatly missed by all those he loved dearly.
