She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Markham, Ontario just one day before her 93rd birthday. Ruby was born June 30, 1928 in Little Current, Manitoulin Island, Ontario to John and Mary Eadie.
Beloved wife of the late William Wallace Chapman and loving mother of Kathleen (Harold), Marlyn (the late Al), and Leslie (Louise).
Ruby will be fondly remembered by her entire family, including 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and their families who all adored her.
Ruby was an incredible artist specializing in oil paintings and paper toll, and she loved travelling around the world. She was also a long-time volunteer at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, teaching children with special needs to swim. It was near and dear to her heart for over 35 years.
A special thank you to all the staff at Chartwell Woodhaven Residence for your compassionate care in the last years of her life.
A private family visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home, (6191 Yonge St.) followed by a private family service which will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
In memoriam donations may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association of Ontario or to The Anglican Church of St. Augustine of Canterbury, (1847 Bayview Ave. Toronto).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kanejerrettnorthyork.ca for the Chapman family.
