Mr. Noel shared the same room with my father when they were hospitalized. Mr. Noel was a gentle soul with a quiet disposition so it was very easy to appreciate his presence and spend time with him; he would uplift you with a kind word and his wit. I enjoyed listening to his mini stories.  I saw him as a  humble man who appreciated every hand that was extended towards him. 

Mr. Noel was vision-impaired. One day I went to visit both him and Mrs. Noel. Mr. Noel was sitting in the hallway outside their room. As we walked passed  him, he said, "Is that you, Grace?" Mrs. Noel response was, "How did you know it was me?". That is God's grace (pun intended) for being married over 60 years. She was so devoted to him and, much to the consternation of his health care providers, watched over him like a hawk. That's LOVE!

My sincere condolences to the family of Uncle Ray. His knowledge and wonderful sense of humor will surely be missed, especially when visited by his nephew Bertie, and the boys from Washington during the Caribana festive season.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
