It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Peter Miguel Amaral on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Peter was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 28,1976. He is survived by his loving parents, Eduarda and Manuel Amaral, his brother Henry and sister-in-law Carmela (Arangio), his cherished children Christopher and Adrianna, his nephews Nicholas and Daniel (Godson), his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends of which there are too many to count.
Peter was, as many have expressed, the life of the party. He had a spirit that was bright and joyful. Everyone who knew Peter came to love him. He loved to make people laugh, even if it was at his own expense. Peter’s kind, gentle manner was displayed most prominently in his relationship with his children. He loved his children with every part of his being. They have lost their dad too soon, but will always know he loved them with his whole heart and soul.
Attending St. Elizabeth Catholic School, Peter made lifelong friends. He spent many years working as a plumber, again making friends everywhere he went. In recent years, due to poor health he was unable to work, but always had friends reaching out and checking in. Michelle stood by him and supported him. We are grateful for all of the love and support he received.
In Peter’s last moments before he required extraordinary measures he called his brother Henry to tell him he was a great big brother and to say, “I love you.” That was Peter’s greatest gift. He made everyone feel how much they mattered to him. He understood the importance of relationships and that really that’s what life is all about. They say love is patient and love is kind. Peter was all of that and more. He was joyful, expressive, generous, devoted to family, to friends and was exceptionally funny. We are so thankful to have had Peter in our lives, but we will find this loss very difficult to bear. Thanks to all who are supporting us through this difficult time. A special thanks to the care he received at Mackenzie Health and for their efforts to save him. Thanks also, to Father Rogers of the Archdiocese of Toronto for coming to the hospital to give Peter the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. It was comforting to the family that he was cared for physically and spiritually.
Due to Covid-19 the family regrets that only the parents, siblings and children are permitted to attend the mass in person.
