Fr. Paul Granville died on August 1, 2015 at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital in Pickering, Ontario. He was in the 88th year of life and lived 70 years in religious life in the Society of Jesus. Paul was born in Bedford, Nova Scotia on March 21, 1928, son of Edward and Greta Wallace. He joined the Jesuits on July 30, 1945 and was ordained a priest on June 22, 1958. Paul was a teacher and High School Administrator at Campion High School in Regina, 1961-63, at Regiopolis College in Kingston, Ontario 1963-71, and at Gonzaga High School in St. John's, NFLD 1971-75. After doing Clinical Pastoral Training, he served as chaplain at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax 1976-1992. From 1992 to 2003 he was the pastor of St. Bernard's Church in Enfield, N.S. In 2004 he moved to René Goupil House in Pickering, where he spent the rest of his life praying for the Church, the Society of Jesus and the world. He will be missed by family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 5th from 7-9 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Chapel, Manresa Spiritual Renewal Centre, Liverpool Rd. North, Pickering, ON. Prayer service to be held at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6th at the St. Ignatius Chapel, Manresa Spiritual Renewal Centre, Liverpool Rd. North, Pickering, ON. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Jesuit Cemetery, 5420 Hwy 6, Guelph, ON.
