I am so sorry to hear about Patty’s passing and I’m thinking of you all. Deepest sympathies to Trish and the family, Shane, Mike and so many friends and neighbours.

Patty was a great influence on me during formative years and it will always be with me. I’ll never forget the spark in his eye and charismatic smile. The way he boosted up everyone around him with a unique kind of inclusive confidence that brought everybody along.

I’m glad we could spend some time in recent years too. Thanks for taking us to the range, fishing and the nice garden tour more recently. Never enough time, but true quality and these are deeply cherished memories.

Dear Pat,
You will be missed. I think of all those talks we had during our video chats with you and Trish and some of your friends, your laugher, your smile, your wisdom, and your encouragement will all be things that I will always cherish. Many years of friendship cannot be summed up into just a few words. I will always remember and cherish EVERY moment I shared with you in person whether it was hanging out at the fraternity house in our younger days, or chilling in the backyard, front porch, kitchen or sitting on “thirds” in the living room growing into our older days from the house to both your places in Toronto and Mississauga; our wellness walks at Cedarvale and South Millway Parks, and especially our almost daily & nightly chats/texts/FaceTimes and also with our “podcast” crew on the phone. Pat was my friend and fraternity brother.  I met him at the age of 19 and didn't realize the impact he would have on my life. Pat was well liked and respected in the fraternity and someone I looked up to.  Over the years our friendship grew, as we worked together at "the club" on Saturday nights as bartenders,  we made lots of memories in those times.  I spent 3 summers driving out to PEI with Pat, got to know his family and created more great times.   That was the thing with Pat, he could create an amazing time with the simplest things, it didn't need to be fancy or expensive.  He was a man of family, friendships and valued those over material items.  He was a person of the people and a man of leisure.   He found his love and partner in Trish and was never happier.  I miss him greatly and will think of him often.  I love ya Pat, thanks for being an incredible friend and brother.   I look forward to being united again someday.  Until then, rest well. I feel lucky to have known Pat and to have been able to call him a friend for many years.  I learned many things from him and can honestly say that I would not be where I am today without his friendship and guidance.
He had an ability to read people, to know their story without having to ask or be told.  He was rare in the way he would listen and not judge, he valued a good heart above all else.   He was never interested in the material, unless it was something you were excited about, then he would ask you endless questions and share excitement with you.  
A good spot on a couch with interesting conversation is where I remember him being most comfortable. Some of the best times of my life involved sharing stories, philosophies or just good laughs with him, and there were always plenty of laughs.
He was there for his friends, whether you needed advice, someone to listen or just a pillow and blanket after a night at the pub.
My life is richer and better for having known him.


I would like to say “Thank you” You are my good friend and good brother. You make my dream come true. I’m very happy for my first time in Canada, you take a good care of me. I will remember all of thing with you forever. I love you Patrick.

Pat was my friend, my fraternity brother, and everyone should be so lucky as to have someone like him in their life. 

He had a story and a smile for everyone, and was the best listener I ever met. He wanted to know everything about everyone he met, and reveled in the joy of others. 

It’s a sadder world without him. l hope everyone who will miss him dearly finds comfort in his memory, and peace in knowing he’s at rest.

I’m so sorry to hear about Patrick’s bad news from Trish. Patrick is like a my father. When I went to Canada he took me to many places and talk many stories. When I go to travel alone, He would sit and wait me to come back at the back of the house and ask me about where I went, what I did and what I bought. I’m very happy for my first time in Canada but I’m very sad it’s last time with Patrick.
You will always be in my memory no matter what. Your love and kindness will always be with me.

I just want to say I had the great pleasure of meeting a very special man many years ago at a place called pine bungalow in Thailand. God must need you friend he took you so early for a reason that we don't know but for sure your in a special place buddy.

Patrick used to walk past our house, most of the time wearing  a cap and backpack. I decided to talk to him at one point and felt connected immediately. He felt like a brother, same age, same interests. Just an incredibly nice guy. We chatted more and more, every time we ran into each other, either in the street or on the cedarvale bridge. When we asked Patrick and Trish if they could take care of our garden while we were away, there was no hesitation. The produce in the photo was cultivated by Patrick and Trish that summer. Such a shock to hear this sad news. Goodbye my friend
