I want to thank you for the gift of who Pat was to so many of us who spent time at the Cathedral. As a Seminarian, Pat was always supportive of our vacations, ready and will to give us the time to help prepare us for the priesthood, always with a smile and a joke. I have a profound respect for Pat's faith and dedication for the church. We offered masses this past weekend for Pat and am sure that he is in the hands of God, being rewarded for his goodness. My most sincere  condolences to the family and thank you for Pat. Sorry for your loss!

I was one of those young men who started on the road to the priesthood many years ago, who once introduced to the cathedral, came to be welcomed by Pat.  And after that he never failed to not only greet me but to express his interest in my welfare.  This friendly accompaniement of me and and many others was one thing among many that made Pat identified with not only the story of the cathedral but of the life of the Archdiocese.  Many thanks for the gift of sharing him with all of us and a sincere prayer that we will be reunited in that joy that comes from God alone.

My condolences to the Hogan family.  My memories of Pat date back to 2002 when I was hired to work as a summer seminarian at St. Michael's Cathedral.   Much of my work was done with Pat as he was the Cathedral sacristan.  A man of deep faith, humour and a profound love for our Eucharistic Lord are words that come to my mind when I remember Pat. I was Paddy’s chauffeur for the past 10 years or so taking him to St. Mary’s Church  in Victoria Harbour on Wednesday’s and Friday’s.  I’ve missed him since he went to Province House.   I know there is a new angel  in heaven  today.

Sending sincere condolences from Ireland where I have just heard of Pat’s death while on vacation.  He was a very good friend to me during my days as Manager of the Irish Tourist Board and I always knew while Pat was in charge that the St Patrick’s Day Mass would go off without a hitch.
