He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Giuseppina; his children Pasqualina, Francesco (Mary-Jo 1960-2008), Domenico (Rachel); his beloved grandchildren Stephanie, Michael (Alexandra), Frankie (Shannon), Anne (Keegan), Jennifer, Christine, Paolo, and Giacomo; and great grandchildren Anthony, Matteo, Giuliano, Sophia, Liliana, Mia, Emma and Cosette. He is also survived by his brothers Antonio and Giuseppe and sisters Maria, Teresa, Vincenza, and Lucia. He now joins his parents, Francesco and Immaculata; his brothers Vincenzo and Domenico and sister Rosina.
Paolo came to Toronto from Siderno Marina, Reggio, Calabria, Italy in 1954, where he eventually became a master of his beloved craft of plastering.
He had an immense appreciation for the outdoors including feeding the wildlife in his large backyard garden. He was an avid hunter who never shied away from a good gathering especially with his Calabro hunting family.
He always enjoyed sharing a glass of homemade wine with family and friends.
Visitations will take place on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-9:00pm. The visitation on both days with be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. Toronto, ON.
The Funeral Mass will take place Friday, April 26, at 11:30am at St. Clare Church, 1118 St. Clair Ave. W. Toronto, ON. It will also be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person.
PLEASE NOTE: On the morning of the Mass, we would ask that all friends go directly to the church allowing the family some private time prior to the service.
