Lost his courageous battle with cancer peacefully at home, with his wife and daughter by his side, on November 12, 2012. Nikolaos age 75 is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine, son Peter (Linda) and daughters Phaedra (Michel Renaud) and Natalie (Matt Blouin). Also, survived by his brother John (Jacqueline), sister Popi and his cherished grand-children as well as many nieces and nephews. Nikolaos will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially his friends on Portneuf Court. Funeral services to be held at St. James-the-Less Chapel, St. James’ Cemetery, 635 Parliament Street (just north of Wellesley Street) on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
Born in Athens (Tavros), Greece. He migrated to Canada in 1962. Nikolaos worked in the automobile business for most of his life. In 1982 he bought his own business – Vantage Fine Cars, where he continued working until his retirement in 1999. Nikolaos was proud of his heritage and remained true to it until the end. Nikolaos and Lorraine enjoyed cruising on Lake Ontario for over 20 years. Nikolaos lived with Lorraine in a Toronto neighbourhood for the past 20 years and their neighbours became their extended family. He was known as the street mayor and ambassador and will be truly missed by all of them. He enjoyed his grandchildren Juliette and Lucy who were with him on a daily basis until shortly before his death.
