Dear Chard Family:
We are very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing! She will surely be missed a lot by all those who knew her! Aini especially will miss her chats when she came by my house on her walks, and the times we sat and drank tea in the front and back of my garden.   Also all the outings at the CNE and lunches at the restaurant.

Dear Louis, Mike, Greg and all the Chard family, I heard Mary's passing announced at Holy Mass this evening. There are patients that nurses never forget. Your mom is one of those patients for me because of her dynamic personality. She was a force. I loved visiting her. May perpetual light shine upon her. God bless and console all of you.

Over the many years since I first met Mary, I have only heard stories of her strength, good humour, and supportive nature which she evidently endowed upon her children who have loved her and cared for her in return. How wonderful for the Chard family to have enjoyed her warmth and love for such a full lifetime. 
May she rest in peace.

Your Mom was a truly kind soul who stood steadfastly by my mom's side during one of the most challenging times of her life. After my mother, Halina,  lost her husband,  Mary was a source of unwavering support, friendship, and love. Together, they created countless cherished memories, shared adventures, and brought laughter to one another's lives. Their bond, nurtured through good times and companionship at the CWL, was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Your Mom's kindness and warmth touched everyone around her, and her presence made the world a better place.

Dear Family of Mrs. Mary Chard,
Mrs. Chard was a dear, and kind woman.  A well known and respected elder in our community of Greenbush/Tanjoe.  She and our Mother were good friends through St. Paschal Babylon church.  I had the pleasure of speaking with her just before her 98th birthday.  How she cared for people!  Her laughter was so delightful and sweet.  Take comfort in her being in a blissful place with her beloved husband and all that she knew who passed ahead of her.

Mary was always so warm and kind to me, smiling and friendly. She wrote me little notes, which I have kept and treasured. Her beautiful spirit won't be forgotten. My condolences to her family and friends.

I hardly remember not knowing Mary. Out of respect as children we Shook kids always knew her as Mrs. Chard. Times sure have changed and Mrs. Chard has seen a lot of those changes.

   I’d see her walking around the Green Bush/Tanjoe block and would join her. We would chat away about all that was happening in life and the world. Her energy, independence and joyful spirit were infectious and inspiring. She loved my Caroline’s cakes, as did anyone at the house when I delivered one. Yummy! 

   I imagine her and Harold holding hands and hugging, together again. My mother Corinne and Mary will be chatting, laughing and enjoying tea and biscuits together too. God bless you Mrs. Chard❣️
